
Revolution Lose Opener at Illinois

Illinois Piasa ruined the Tulsa Revolution's debut in the Professional Arena Soccer League Friday night, as the Piasa won their home opener, 7-4, over the Revolution.
Illinois jumped out to a quick two-goal lead in the first quarter on goals by Roger Gemoules and Senad Cavka, before Tulsa's Franck Tayou scored the first goal for the PASL expansion team. Tayou's goal was assisted by Broken Arrow native Thomas Shannon.
Illinois took a 3-1 lead with the only goal in the second quarter, on an unassisted tally by Cavka.
Anel Ibricic put the Piasa ahead 4-1 with a power play goal 5:37 into the third period. Tulsa's Michael Poneys answered with an unassisted power play goal at 13:03 of the third period.
In the fourth quarter, Illinois quickly extended its lead to 6-2 with goals by Denis Hamzabegovic and Gemoules. Then Tulsa got back to back goals by Bryce Taylor (unassisted) and Dominique Nayaga (assisted by Tayou). Alen Bradaric closed the scoring for Illinois with less than a minute remaining in the game.
Tulsa (0-1) will continue the season-opening road trip with a game at Chicago Mustangs on Saturday, 4:05 p.m. CDT. The Revolution will then travel to Dallas on Nov. 16 for a game against the Sidekicks, before opening the team's home schedule Nov. 22 against Hidalgo, 7:00 p.m. at the Cox Business Center.
