Power schedule revised for earlier rainouts

CHARLESTON, WV - The West Virginia Power, a Class-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, will travel to Whitaker Bank Ballpark this weekend to take on the Lexington Legends. What was originally scheduled as a four-game series has now become a five-and-a-half game set.

The Power hosted the Legends in early July and had a game suspended and a game postponed due to inclement weather.

West Virginia and Lexington will resume the July 5 suspended game on Thursday, July 25 at 5:05 pm. The game will resume with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning and Barrett Barnes on first base. The Legends held a 3-1 lead at the time the game was suspended and the conclusion of the game will be played to the full nine innings. The regularly scheduled game will begin 30 minute after the suspended game concludes and will be played to seven innings. West Virginia will be the home team in the suspended game and the visiting team in the nightcap.

The Power and Legends will play one game on Friday, July 26 at 7:05 pm. On July 27, the clubs will play a doubleheader to make up for the July 7 postponement. Both games with seven innings with the Power serving as the home team for game one and the road club for game two. First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 pm.
