Reign FC Set For Match With Thorns FC

Seattle, WA - Seattle Reign FC heads to Portland this Sunday to battle Thorns FC in the third installment of the National Women's Soccer League northwest rivalry. The match starts at 2 p.m. at Jeld-Wen Field in Portland, Oregon.

Seattle (0-9-1, 1 pt.) has called up four amateur players from the Reign FC Reserves squad to offset the loss of goalkeeper Hope Solo (U.S.), midfielders Kaylyn Kyle (Canada) and Jess Fishlock (Wales), and defender Emily Zurrer (Canada), all of whom have been called up to their respective counties for national team duty.

Caitlin Allen

Height: 5' 7"

Born: 1/3/91

Hometown: San Diego, CA

Last Club: Reign FC Reserves presented by Issaquah Soccer Club

College: UNLV

Allen is a member of the Reign FC Reserves backline that has allowed only one goal in three games. A San Diego native and graduate of UNLV, Allen earned All-Mountain West honors during her senior campaign, being named to the first team, and was a 2012 NSCAA All-Pacific Region second-team honoree.

Joana Houplin

Hometown: Olympia, WA

College: Western Washington University

Houplin is a member of the Philippines National Team and graduate of Western Washington University. During her senior campaign, Houplin was named a second-team National Soccer Coaches Association of America West Region all-star. After graduating from WWU, Houplin became a graduate assistant for the Vikings and helped lead the team to a third-round finish in the NCAA Division II Championship in 2013.

Macy Jo Harrison

Position: Midfielder/Forward

Height: 5' 5"

Born: 7/13/90

Hometown: Napa, CA

College: UNLV

As a member of the women's soccer team at UNLV, Harrison helped the Rebels to a 12- 4-4 record in the Mountain West Conference in 2012. Harrison set a UNLV single-season record with eight assists during her senior season. She also added four goals and received first-team All-Mountain West accolades.

Bree Rowe

College: University of Oregon

Rowe, a 2011 graduate of the University of Oregon and Federal Way, Wash. native, played in 18 matches as a senior for the Ducks. Rowe is a 2007 graduate of Federal Way High School. Rowe started for Reign FC in the recent friendly match against Haiti.

Portland (7-2-1, 22 pts.) won the first two matches of the series by one goal, with last game's 0 - 1 victory in Seattle coming on a penalty kick that Sinclair converted in the 84th minute.

Despite the penalty, Seattle looked strong throughout the match, creating more scoring opportunities than Portland. They look to build on those chances and the ones they created in their last game against FC Kansas City to earn their first three points of the season.

Portland will be without forward Alex Morgan (U.S.), midfielder Christine Sinclair (Canada) and defender Rachel Buhler (U.S.).
