Kitchener Rangers News Release
Kitchener Rangers General Manager and Head Coach Steve Spott announced Wednesday that Paul Fixter is leaving his role as the Rangers' Assistant General Manager and Associate Coach to pursue a coaching opportunity with the Sudbury Wolves.
"The Rangers want to recognize Paul's incredible commitment, not only to our hockey program, but also to the community. In his five years with our club, he has made a significant, positive impact on our players, our staff and the quality of hockey we have been able to offer our fans," said Spott.
"Our emotions are mixed, because while we will miss Paul, we are also very excited for him and wish him nothing but the best as he pursues this new opportunity as an Associate Coach in Sudbury."
Paul joined the Kitchener Rangers bench in 2008 as the Assistant General Manager and Associate Coach. Prior to joining the club he worked as a coach in the Central and American Hockey Leagues.
He also spent six seasons with the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, where he won two Stanley Cup championships as a member of the coaching staff in 1996 and 2001.
"I would like to offer my sincere thanks to Paul for his commitment to the Kitchener Rangers, and look forward to seeing him succeed in his new role with the Wolves," said Spott.
