
Pacifics Drop Season Opener to Federals

San Rafael Pacifics News Release
Prescott, AZ. - The San Rafael Pacifics fell to the Montezuma Federals in their first regular-season game, 7-4, at Roughrider Park in Prescott, AZ.
Right-hander Tyler Pearson took the loss, pitching 5 1/3 innings and allowing five earned runs. Pearson allowed five hits, two walks and struck out five.
Federals right fielder Gary Mayberry (4-for-4, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 3 R) fell a single short of the cycle, but hit solo home runs in the sixth and seventh. Catcher, Matthew Chavez (2-for-3, 2 HR, 3 RBI) hit a two-run home run in the second, and a solo home run in the sixth.
San Rafael first baseman Johnny Woodard (3-for-4, HR, 3 RBI) hit his first home run of the season in the sixth, a three run home run. Second baseman Price Kendall went 1-for-4 with a RBI.
