Danville Otterbots News Release
DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves want to invite youth baseball players to come out for a three day camp that includes baseball instruction from the D-Braves players and coaches. The camp will be held July 24-26 at American Legion Post 325 Field in Dan Daniel Memorial Park.
The camp is designed to develop positive habits and teach fundamental baseball in an encouraging learning atmosphere. Most of all, the camp wants to teach the children about teamwork, communication, and how to have fun while playing baseball.
Camp begins at 9:00 a.m. each morning and instruction will last until 12:30 p.m. The drills will cover the basics of pitching, hitting, and fielding along with campers applying the skills they learn in scrimmage games.
The camp is open for all children ages 6-12 and while bats and balls will be provided, attendees must bring their own glove labeled with their name. Recommended attire for the camp includes baseball pants, t-shirt, and either cleats or tennis shoes. Campers wearing open-toed shoes will not be allowed to participate.
The cost of the camp is $75 per camper and includes lunch after each camp day, an official D-Braves Camp T-Shirt, and two free tickets to the July 26 game against the Burlington Royals where the campers will receive special recognition on the field prior to the game.
All campers must fill out and turn in the proper registration and medical waiver forms in order to participate in the camps.
More information for the camps, along with registration and medical wavier forms, can be found at www.dbraves.com under the "Community" tab. Fans can also call the D-Braves office at (434)-797-3792, or stop by the D-Braves Box Office at ALP 325 Field in Dan Daniel Memorial Park for more information.
