Birmingham Barons News Release

The Barons turned their recent offensive slump aside Sunday, knocking out 15 hits en route to a 10-4 victory over the Jackson Generals in front of 1,331 fans at Generals Park.

The offensive onslaught was led by Dan Wagner (3-for-4) and Tyler Saladino (3-for-5) as the Barons jumped out to a 10-0 advantage after six innings. Wagner finished with two doubles on the night and drove in two runs in support of starter Nick McCully (3-1, 3.67).

The Barons scored runs in each inning from the second through the sixth including three-run innings in the third and fifth, resulting in their highest offensive output since May 8th against the Tennessee Smokies.

McCully finished with his best start of the season, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out three.

With the win, the Barons improved to 28-16 on the season while Jackson fell to 18-24.

The Barons will look to win their third road series in a row tomorrow night as Southern League wins leader LHP Scott Snodgress (5-2, 4.13) takes the hill against RHP Brett Shankin (2-1, 4.22). First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 PM CDT.
