
RailHawks to Host LA Galaxy in U.S. Open Cup with Win against Dynamo

CARY, N.C. (May 15, 2013) - The Carolina RailHawks have won the right to host back-to-back Major League Soccer Champions, LA Galaxy, in the Third Round of the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, May 29th at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7:00pm. The RailHawks must first advance past their Second Round opponent, the Greensboro-based Carolina Dynamo, on Tuesday, May 21st at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7:00pm. The U.S. Open Cup is a knockout style tournament that began in 1914 and is open to U.S. Soccer affiliated clubs, both amateur and professional.
In 2012, the RailHawks and Galaxy met in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup in front of a sold-out crowd at WakeMed Soccer Park. The raucous record setting crowd (since broken) was entertained to a RailHawks 2-1 come-from-behind victory. 2013 RailHawks Season Ticket Holders will receive their seats for all U.S. Open Cup matches. In addition, Season Ticket Holders and Flex Plan Holders have the ability to purchase U.S. Open Cup tickets at an exclusive pre-sale, prior to tickets go on-sale to the general public.
