KELLY CUP EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS - GAME 3 / WET WEDNESDAY

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs are down to the final four - and for the fourth time in club history the Cyclones are among them. Tonight, they'll meet the top seeded Reading Royals as they open the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals. The teams have become quite familiar with each other in the postseason, meeting in each of the years that both have been playoff eligible. Over the previous three series meetings, the Clones have earned a 9-9 record and advanced twice.

SCOUTING THE ROYALS: Larry Courville's club won the decisive seventh semifinals game on Wednesday against Florida to advance into the Conference Finals. Royals captain Yannick Tifu leads the team in scoring and ranks fourth in the ECHL postseason with 14 points (8 goals, 6 assists) in 12 games. He posted 3 goals and 2 assists in the regular season series vs. Cincinnati. Nikita Kashirsky has also been a strong contributor this playoff year, notching 11 tallies (2 goals, 9 assists) in 12 contests. Between the pipes, Mark Owuya and Riley Gill have split the duties and equally excelled. The duo are the top two goalies in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, statistically; Owyua is 3-2 with a 1.61 goals-against average while Gill has gone 5-2 with a 1.81 GAA.

Royal Pains: The Cyclones and Royals have played a total of 18 times in the postseason, with the teams holding an even 9-9 record. While Reading last advanced past the Clones in the 2011 East Quarterfinals, Cincy has triumphed in the other two series meetings - and both years the Cyclones went onto win the Kelly Cup.

Defense Wins: Both the Cyclones and Royals have found success on defense. Reading leads the ECHL by allowing an average of 1.92 goals per game. Cincinnati is surrendering an average of 2.33.
