Normal CornBelters News Release
Normal, IL - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, will host open auditions for the positions of Public Address Announcer and On-Field Host at The Corn Crib on Wednesday, April 24 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Any fans with aspirations of stardom are welcome to audition! The CornBelters will play their first regular season home game of the 2013 season at the ballpark on Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. versus the Windy City Thunderbolts (CEFCU Opening Night).
Applicants for both positions must be available for all 52 CornBelters home games this season. During the auditions, applicants will be judged upon voice quality, delivery and cadence. Each applicant will be expected to read a script that will be provided to them, as well as provide some improvisation. Applicants for the On-Field Host position should be ready to demonstrate their talents, and run through various activities, on the field.
Those who cannot attend, but still have an interest in trying out, please contact Jeff Holtke at 309-454-2255 (BALL) or jholtke@normalbaseball.com.
THE NIBLET : The CornBelters are currently seeking host families for the 2013 season. The "Host Family Program" provides players with a home away from home. It enables them to live with a family, couple or individual in the Bloomington-Normal area. It is derived from a variety of factors from a player's standpoint. Such factors include: the difficulty in finding a lease for just several months, the possibility of playing for the CornBelters for a limited time and/or the limited salaries that accompany professional baseball at this level of play.
