
Ryan Searle Named FSL Pitcher of the Week

Daytona Beach, FL - The Florida State League announced, Monday, that Daytona Cubs pitcher Ryan Searle has been named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 14th.
Searle (23) has made two appearances out of the bullpen for Daytona this season. He has worked 8 1/3 shutout innings and allowed only three hits while walking one and striking out 10. He earned the victory in Daytona's first win of the season on April 5th at Brevard County, a game the Cubs won 8-0.
The Narangba, Queensland, Australia native has currently pitched the most innings in the FSL without allowing a run. Searle also leads the league in WHIP (0.48) and has the third lowest batting average against (.107).
Searle is schedule to start the Cubs' game on Tuesday night in Clearwater which is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Searle was signed by the Cubs in 2007 at the age of 17.
