
D-Fenders Home Winning Streak Snapped by Stampede

El SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders were dropped by the Idaho Stampede 116-106 on Wednesday night at Toyota Sports Center, snapping an eight game home winning streak that began on January 30th.
The D-Fenders (19-23) held onto a 33-30 advantage at the end of quarter one after shooting 57.1 percent, but ended the half down 67-59 after the Stampede sank three more three pointers (7-of-17 3FGs in the half). In the third quarter, the D-Fenders fell behind by as many as 22 points after a 16-2 run by the Stampede and trailed 95-74 heading into the final frame. Despite beginning the quarter on an 11-4 run, the D-Fenders could not overcome the late-game deficit.
Morris Almond scored a team-high 21 points, Courtney Fortson tallied 18 points, 15 assists (T-franchise record) and five steals, and Elijah Millsap registered 18 points and seven rebounds for the D-Fenders. In addition, Mike Taylor recorded 14 points, Gary Flowers pitched in 12 points, and Craig Brackins totaled 10 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
Three players scored 20-plus points for Idaho (14-28), led by Justin Holiday (25 points, 4 steals), Coby Karl (20 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists) and Justin Harper (20 points, 8 rebounds). Sean Evans (14 points, 9 rebounds), Durrell Summers (11 points, 6 assists) and Carlon Brown (11 points) also finished in double-figures for the Stampede.
Los Angeles is back in action tomorrow night for a road contest against the Reno Bighorns (NBA Affiliate: Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz) at 7 PT. The D-Fenders have won five of six games against the Bighorns this season.
