Coaches Go "Head-To-Head" at MAX Capital City Classic

Tuesday, March 5 marks the 5th annual MAX Capital City Classic at Riverwalk Stadium between Auburn and Alabama. The Crimson Tide seeks its first-ever win in this year's game. The Tigers have won four straight by a margin of two or fewer runs, including a 2-1 victory last year in front of a record 7,492 fans.

Auburn Head Coach Â- John Pawlowski

John Pawlowski enters his fifth season as head coach with the Auburn Tigers. In his first four seasons, Pawlowski notched a 134-103 record, including a 31-28 (13-17 SEC) record in 2012. Auburn led the SEC in average (.304) for the second time in three seasons and led in triples, stolen bases, and steal attempts. The Tigers also made their third straight SEC Tournament appearance.

Alabama Head Coach Â- Mitch Gaspard

Mitch Gaspard enters his fourth season as head coach with the Alabama Crimson Tide. To date, Gaspard owns a 99-87 record, including a 21-34 (9-21 SEC) record in 2012. Alabama failed to reach the SEC Tournament last year, but Gaspard and his talented roster are looking forward to a promising 2013 season with hopes of a return to postseason glory.

Both coaches have agreed to shave their heads prior to the start of the game in the fight against childhood cancer. For the first annual MAX
