Recap of Last Week
The Road Warriors continued play at the Century BMW Rink at the BI-LO Center this past week for a two-game series. On Thursday, the Road Warriors knocked off the Wheeling Nailers for the first time in regulation this season. Connor Knapp won his first ECHL game enroute to a 3-1 victory. Greenville was not as fortunate on Friday night against the Florida Everblades. The South Division rival defeated Greenville by a score 5-2.
Week Ahead
The Road Warriors have a four-game week beginning on Monday afternoon. The Wheeling Nailers return to Greenville for a 1 p.m President's Day Matinee. Tickets in the Select Red and Value Green levels will be available for only $6. In addition kid's meals are available for only $5. FAN FEST BEGINS AT 11:45 A.M. IN THE CHARTER BUSINESS PLAZA PRESENTED BY ABC PARTY RENTALS AND FEATURING POP SINGER KYLIE ODETTA.
The Road Warriors begin a three-game series in North Charleston on Friday night at 7 p.m. against the Stingrays. The intrastate rivals face each other again on Saturday night at the North Charleston Coliseum. The final game of the series returns to the Century BMW Rink at the BI-LO Center on Sunday at 4 p.m. Sunday features the third annual Pink in the Rink Game. The Road Warriors will wear special Pink in the Rink Jerseys in an effort to raise awareness about women's cancers & domestic abuse. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game with the proceeds donated to the Mary Kay Foundation. The game will also feature pink lines in place of the normal red lines and faceoff circles. Fans can purchase a special package combining two tickets to the Pink in the Rink Game with two Flex Tickets good for any remaining Road Warriors 2012-13 regular season game.
Streaks and Stats
Marc-Olivier Vallerand ranks sixth in the ECHL scoring race with 56 points. T.J. Reynolds leads the team in penalty minutes with 116. Brendan Connolly is one of five ECHL players with more than one hat trick this season. Mike Marcou is ranked third among rookie defensemen with 22 points. Greenville's average attendance since New Years is 4,183.
Transactions
The Road Warriors conducted four transactions last week. Defenseman Ricky Helmbrecht was released and Mike Marcou returned on loan from San Antonio. Bretton Cameron was loaned to the Texas Stars for the second time this season. The Road Warriors also signed forward Jon Higgins.
