Gordie Howe's 85th Birthday Celebration Guests Announced

VANCOUVER, BC - The Vancouver Giants announced today that three of the Special Guests who will be in attendance for Gordie Howe's 85th Birthday Celebration game on Friday March 1 are Marcel Dionne, Orland Kurtenbach, and Johnny Bower.

Dionne, who is part of the 1992 Hockey Hall of Fame Inductees, tallied 1771 points in his 18 seasons in the National Hockey League, just 79 points behind Howe who is 3rd overall in points in the NHL with 1850.

Kurtenbach, the first captain of the Vancouver Canucks, also laced up for the Bruins, Maple Leafs, and Rangers against Howe and the Detroit Red Wings for 8 seasons, from 1963 to 1971.

Bower, the Hall of Fame goaltender who played predominantly for the Toronto Maple Leafs, faced Howe and the Red Wings many times for 12 seasons, from 1958 to 1970.

The remaining Special Guests will be announced on Monday February 18. All the Guests will be in attendance for a special pre-game ceremony on Friday March 1, plus 500 randomly selected fans will get to meet Gordie Howe & the Legends during the game.
