Reno Bighorns News Release
RENO, NEV, Feb. 11, 2013 - Reno Bighorns' players Marcus Landry, Jerome Jordan and Dar Tucker will represent Reno this weekend at the 2013 NBA D-League All-Star game in Houston.
Landry and Jordan were both named to the 2013 NBA D-League All-Star Futures Team last week. They were voted in to the game by the D-League's 16 head coaches and were eligible to be selected based on having played in half of the Bighorns' games through Jan. 27.
The game takes place Feb. 16, at Sprint Arena at NBA All-Star Jam Session at Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center. The game will air live on NBA TV at 3 p.m. ET.
Landry will also compete in the NBA D-League Boost Mobile Three-Point Contest, which will tip off NBA D-League All-Star action at 2 p.m. ET. He came in second place in the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase Three-Point Shootout in Reno. Landry is currently shooting 44% from behind the arc. Landry will compete against Micah Downs (Maine Red Claws), Justin Dentmon (Texas Legends) and Justin Holiday (Idaho Stampede).
Bighorns' guard Dar Tucker will compete in the Boost Mobile Slam Dunk Contest, which will take place at halftime of the D-League All-Star game. Tucker, who won the Dunk Contest in 2010 and 2011, came in second place in the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase Slam Dunk Contest. Tucker will be joined by Tony Mitchell (Fort Wayne Mad Ants), Josh Owens (Idaho Stampede) and Glen Rice, Jr. (Rio Grande Valley Vipers).
This marks the first time that Boost Mobile is the presenting partner of the NBA D-League Dream Factory, NBA D-League Slam Dunk Contest, and NBA D-League Three Point Contest.
"The entire Reno Bighorns family is excited and proud that Marcus, Jerome and Dar have been selected to compete in the 2013 NBA Development League All-Star weekend," said Bighorns owner, Herb Santos, Jr. "All three are not only great leaders on the floor, but they have led by example in our community as good role models for our youth."
