The Monsters scored first when on Trevor Husch's scored ashort-handed marker 4:10 into the contest. Husch stole a pass at his blue lineand notched the goal on a breakaway. Husch's goal was Fresno's only highlightof the first period as the Wild retaliated with three unanswered goals.
The Wild, still on the power play, needed just 18 seconds toscore the equalizer when Joe Sullivan(Las Vegas, Nev.) lit the lamp on a one-timer from the fair point. Max McHugh (Edgewood, Wash.) fedSullivan the puck, and Alex Schoenborn(Minot, N.D.) was credited with the secondary assist.
Chris Kerr(Penticton, British Columbia) gave Wenatchee its first lead at the 9:10 mark ofthe first period when he whistled a wrister from the near circle past TomasSholl's stick side. Blake Butzow (Plymouth,Mich.) and Sullivan assisted on the play, which started with a faceoff win inthe Wild zone and a crisp breakout.
Thirty-eight seconds later, at the 9:48 mark, the Wildearned a 2-goal lead when McHugh scored on a rebound off of Jacob Barber's (Dardenne Prairie, Mo.)shot from the slot. Jono Davis (La Verne,Calif.) also assisted.
"We were able to finish," Wenatchee Wild associate head coachTom Rudrud said in reference to histeam's scoring chances. "We had a lot of quality chances tonight, and it's niceto see a lot of guys get in the action."
In all, 10 different Wild players recorded a point in thewin. Davis (1G, 2A) and Sullivan (1G, 2A) led the way with three points apiece.
The Wild scored two more unanswered goals in the secondperiod. Josh Hartley (Coquitlam,British Columbia) scored the first of the two when he picked up a loose puckand lit the lamp one-on-one on a backhander. Brian Williams (San Diego, Calif.) and Nicholas Kuchera (Eagan, Minn.) assisted.
Williams scored Wenatchee's second goal of the middle frame toput the Wild up 5-1 when he knocked in a loose puck. Davis and Sullivan pickedup the assists.
The Monsters cut the Wild lead down to 5-2 a little overthree minutes into the third period on a marker by Chase Sisk that was assistedby Troy Grahl and Justin Plate.
Wenatchee reclaimed its 4-goal lead four minutes after Siskscored on a goal by Davis. The play started in the Wild zone after the Monsterscoughed up the puck to Davis, who skated in on goal from the left win on a2-on-2. Davis elected to pass to Kerr, whose shot was off target. The shotbounced off the end wall, however, right to Davis, who tucked the puck into thenet for his team-leading 27th goal of the season.
Fresno closed out scoring during a power play with less thannine minutes remaining in regulation when Matt Salituro registered his team'sthird goal of the game from the right wing. Dan Sherer and Jesse Durfee werecredited with the assists.
Robert Nichols(Dallas, Texas) made 22 saves on 25 shots to earn his 27th win ofthe season. Sholl, who had only given up eight goals against the Wild in fivegames entering Friday's contest, gave up six goals on 37 shots. Each teamscored one power-play goal.
