Maine Celtics News Release
PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, today announced that they have acquired forward Kris Joseph. Joseph, who was assigned to the Red Claws earlier this season by the Boston Celtics before being waived Boston on January 6, rejoins the team under an NBA Development League contract.
Joseph, 24, was selected by the Celtics in the 2nd round (51st overall) in the 2012 NBA Draft, appearing in six games with Boston. Joseph appeared in ten games on assignment with the Red Claws, averaging 17.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. To make room on the roster for Joseph, forward DaJuan Summers, currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, has been moved to the Inactive List.
Joseph is expected to join the Red Claws in Springfield, MA as the team faces the Springfield Armor in an East Division matchup. The Red Claws will return home tomorrow to host the Bakersfield Jam at 7 PM before closing out the weekend at home on Sunday with a 3 PM contest with the Armor.
