Bakersfield Jam News Release

BAKERSFIELD - All five starters for the Bakersfield Jam (19-9) scored in double-figures in a 107-83 win over the visiting Austin Toros (14-12) Saturday night. Brian Butch (17 points, 12 rebounds) and Adam Koch (13 points-13 rebounds) recorded double-doubles for the Jam.

After leading 30-27 at the end of the first quarter, the Jam got out to a commanding start in the second period as they dominated the entire quarter with good defense and offense. Bakersfield outscored Austin 27-14 in that second period and shot 48 percent from the field (11-of-23) to Austin's 13 percent (2-of-15). That strong quarter performance led to a 57-41 Jam advantage at the half. From that point on, it was all Bakersfield as they led by as many as 24 points in the third period and by as many as 26 in the fourth.

Jerel McNeal had 20 points and Renaldo Major scored 20 points as well to go along with five rebounds and four steals. In just his second start of the season, James Nunnally tallied 19 points for the Jam. Stephen Dennis contributed 11 points, five rebounds and four assists off the bench.

The Austin Toros were led by Cory Joseph (San Antonio Spurs assignee) who had a game-high 21 points. Chris Roberts and Patrick Sullivan each scored 14 points.

Bakersfield will now embark on a three-game road trip starting on Friday, February 8 when they take on the Maine Red Claws. Tip-off scheduled at 4 p.m. PT.
