Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, Neb. - Minor League Baseball is all about affordable family fun. With that in mind, the Omaha Storm Chasers are proud to announce their 2013 Promotional Schedule packed with improved daily promotions, never-before-seen giveaways and death-defying performers that make sure fans of all ages will be able to truly "Chase the FUN" all season long.

"We are excited to add to the already outstanding product the Storm Chasers staff created here at Werner Park," said Omaha Storm Chasers CEO Gary Green. "One of the things that has been important to me is to make it an even better entertainment experience by adding more giveaways and promotions for the great fans in Omaha."

The 45th season in franchise history begins with a bang on Friday, April 12 with the first of 13 American Family Insurance Fireworks shows throughout 2013. Opening week will give Storm Chasers fans their first chance to see two brand new daily promotions, Cox Communications "Two for Tuesday" and "Wobblehead Wednesday" presented by Pepsi. Fans can get two tickets for the price of one by showing their Cox Communications paper or online bill at the ticket office every Tuesday this season except July 2. While on three Wednesdays this year, the first 1,500 fans will receive Wobbleheads of Stormy (April 17), Chasers skipper Mike Jirschele (May 22) and a fan vote will decide the final Wobblehead (August 21).

In the month of May, the Storm Chasers will unveil a George Brett "Bobble-Arm" doll to the first 2,000 fans on May 18 courtesy of Wells Blue Bunny. This never-before-seen doll will depict Brett's immortal Pine Tar Incident at Yankee Stadium on July 24, 1983. It is also one of twelve giveaways planned throughout the 2013 season. Giveaways range from a ConAgra Storm Chasers alternate replica jersey, Principal Financial Group eye black and a Nebraska Colon Cancer Storm Chasers hat.

Three wildly entertaining performers are set to amaze Werner Park crowds this summer at select Storm Chasers games. The first of these performances will defy death when Pepsi helps the team welcome The Human Cannonball, David "The Bullet" Smith on June 1. Other in-game performers scheduled for the 45th season are Omaha Street Percussion on July 13 and Cowboy Monkey Rodeo on August 31. 2013 is the first time any of these three acts have ever performed at a Storm Chasers game. Prepare to be amused and astonished!

The Storm Chasers have again teamed up with First National Bank to celebrate our nation's Independence with two massive fireworks shows on July 2 and July 3. The July 3 show will be the largest fireworks show in the greater Omaha metro area. Celebrate your Independence with outstanding baseball and unbelievable fireworks from the outfield at Werner Park!

The second annual concert weekend at Werner Park is scheduled for August 23 and 24. Werner Enterprises has once again secured a platinum-selling artist that will perform a post-game concert on Friday, August 23 and the following night features Building 429 on Faith and Family Night. And finally, the Storm Chasers say "Thank You" to the best fans in all of Minor League Baseball with the final weekend of 2013 season starting on Friday, August 31 through Labor Day, September 2. That weekend will include two fireworks shows, two giveaways, one entertainer and a special Sunday night game.

"Even with the new daily promotions, exciting entertainers and premiere giveaways, fans can still expect promotions they have come to know and love," said Martie Cordaro, President and General Manager of the Storm Chasers. "These include half-price Omaha Steaks Burgers on mid-week day games, U.S. Bank Family FUNday Sundays, Rotella's $1 Hot Dog Mondays and Thirsty Thursdays featuring Pepsi and Budweiser products."
