Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE - The 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Tuesday that Shark wide receiver Jeremy Kelley has been placed on the AFL's "Other League Exempt" list, as Kelley has signed with the National Football League's Indianapolis Colts.
"Reaching the NFL is a goal of every player in our league, and Jeremy has accomplished that goal," Sharks Head Coach Les Moss said. "He is a player with the tools to succeed at the next level and we wish him the best of luck in Indianapolis."
The 24-year-old Kelley was originally assigned to the Jacksonville roster on November 13, 2012. He first broke in to the Arena Football League with the Utah Blaze in 2012, catching 19 passes for 231 yards and seven touchdowns in eight games in Utah. The University of Maine product also saw action with the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2011.
Kelley becomes the first player assigned to the Sharks' 2013 roster to receive an opportunity in either the CFL or the NFL. While Kelley is with the Colts, Jacksonville will retain his AFL rights through the 2013 AFL season.
