
San Rafael Pacifics Sign Two Following Open Tryout

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - The San Rafael Pacifics announced they have signed former Sonoma County Grape, Ross Pomerantz, and left-hander Nathan King, to contracts following their January 26 open tryout in Fairfield, CA.
Pomerantz was invited to the Pacifics spring training camp in 2012, before ultimately being sent to Sonoma. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Occidental College graduate posted a 2-3 record for the Grapes, with a 4.20 ERA in 11 games. His best outing came against the Pacifics on June 28, 2012, going seven innings while only allowing two earned runs.
King, 23, last appeared in 2010 with North Carolina State. The Vancouver, Washington, resident appeared in 19 games in relief for the Wolfpack. Prior to NC State, he pitched at Lower Columbia college and went 5-2 with a 2.31 EAR in 11 appearances - including nine starts.
Pacifics President and General Manager, Mike Shapiro, announced the club would be holding another open tryout in mid-April.
