Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons, in conjunction with the City of Birmingham have announced a partnership with TS Sports for the installation and implementation of the new video board at Regions Field. Installation on the video board began on January 16th.
The centerpiece of the project will be the new state-of-the-art video board, which will include the latest HD technology. Regions Field will house a 25.2' x 42' primary video display, surrounded by 11 backlit advertisement panels. The entire board can be used as a video screen to show live action or video replays, or split into sections for graphics, animation and statistical data. The project also features 34' 20mm fascia, which will be located on the first base grandstand, a Media Support Group 4-camera-shoot configuration and a state-of-the-art control room featuring top of the line Click Effects operating systems.
"The Barons are excited to provide our fans with a first-class entertainment experience at Regions Field and this state-of-the-art video board will be an integral part of that experience," said Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson.
Located behind the Vision First Home Run Porch, the video board will be a focal point for in-game entertainment at Regions Field. A bolstered production staff will bring fans high definition video, instant replay, stats and promotions throughout each game, creating a fun environment for fans of all ages. The Barons will also be one of the first team's in the country to run a new prototype of the Click Effects Statistics Software, giving fans in-depth situational stats throughout the game.
Brent Waldrum, MiLB Sales said, "TS Sports is excited to partner with Robins & Morton and the Birmingham Barons on the new LED video boards for Regions Field. Our new HD10 video board will blow Barons' fans away and bring a lot of excitement on game day."
HD10 technology uses an additional LED per pixel creating a more detailed picture, better viewing angles and superior overall clarity. In addition to innovative picture quality, HD10 uses 30% less energy; further reducing the carbon footprint of conventional panels and cutting venue power costs.
