Lashoff Recalled by Detroit

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Monday recalled defenseman Brian Lashoff from the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Lashoff, 22, has six points (2-4-6) and 23 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Griffins this season. The Albany, N.Y., native is in his third professional season, recording 35 points (11-24-35) in 161 career games with the Griffins. He posted career-high offensive totals in 2011-12, notching 19 points (8-11-19) in 76 games.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound defenseman could make his NHL debut tonight, as he joins the Red Wings in Columbus for a 7:30 p.m. contest against the Blue Jackets.

The Griffins return to action on Wednesday, hosting the Oklahoma City Barons at 7 p.m. The game marks the first of three home games this week and begins a stretch of five of six games (Jan. 23-Feb. 6) at Van Andel Arena. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
