Eugene Emeralds News Release
EUGENE, OR - When the staff of the Eugene Emeralds Professional Baseball team returned home from Winter Meetings late last week, they learned of the tragic accident involving Lane County sheriff's deputy Drew Wattier and his wife Michelle. The staff works closely with area law enforcement agencies year round and immediately felt a tug on their heart to "do something"!
That "something" turned into the idea to donate 100% of all monies from any 2013 flex book purchased between December 10th and December 21st, 2012. Ems fans stepped up over the two weeks by raising $1800 for the Wattier medical fund.
"With all of the great Eugene businesses that have stepped up to help out the Wattiers, we are proud to do our part and so thankful to our fans for supporting this effort," said Ems General Manager Allan Benavides.
If you would still like to make a donation, a fund has been set up at SELCO Community Credit Union.
