Harrisburg Senators News Release
Earlier today, the Harrisburg Senators held a press conference introducing their most aggressive promotional schedule ever. The 2013 promotional schedule is a culmination of several years of discussions between Senators fans and the front office. After all of the feedback, looking at the nuts of bolts of the season day-by-day, the front office staff collectively worked towards what is quickly becoming an incredibly loaded season of fun and entertainment at Metro Bank Park.
Opening Night is April 4 at 7:00 p.m. against the Bowie Baysox. If fans have any doubts about the Senators commitment to fun and entertainment, they should end on Opening Night. The evening starts with the gates opening at 5:30 p.m. with the first 1,000 fans receiving a Jordan Zimmermann bobblehead. It's also the first Thirsty Thursday of the season as fans 21 and over can enjoy $2 drafts on the boardwalk. After the game, stay and watch the first post-game fireworks show of the season. But, that's not all, the Senators are even giving away the kitchen sink. That's right, the Senators are doing everything and giving away the kitchen sink.
So what's your pleasure? You like giveaways; we have forty-two of them. That's right, forty-two giveaways. Included in the forty-two are seven bobblehead giveaways, nine poster giveaways, jerseys, t-shirts, baseballs and more. You want firework shows, good; Metro Bank Park is the place to be as the Senators will have sixteen post-game shows. Yep, sixteen, and they all start with a post-game fireworks show on Opening Night.
Thirsty Thursday is back again in 2013. Each Thursday there are $2 draft beers available on the boardwalk. This is the Senators fifth season of doing Thirsty Thursday. After eleven games this season, three lucky fans will win a jersey off the back of a Senators player. How cool is that? In all, the Sens are giving away 33 jerseys right off the backs of the players!
Once again in 2013 the Cowboy Monkeys make a special appearance on Thursday, June 13. This will be their third season in a row making an appearance at Metro Bank Park. The annual Diamond Dig takes place on Thursday, August 8. There is an appearance of a WWE wrestling legend on Saturday, June 22 as well as a post-game event featuring the Ultimate Wrestling Experience.
The Senators are again home for Memorial Day weekend as the Reading Fightin Phils come to Metro Bank Park for a big four-game holiday weekend series. There are two post-game firework shows, a giveaway, kids running the bases, a pre-game catch on the field, and one lucky fan will win ownership in a racehorse! All of that and a special 2:00 p.m. game on Monday.
For the second time in three seasons, the Senators are home for Independence Day! The big weekend starts with July 4 and the biggest post-game fireworks show of the season! The team will wear special Patriotic Jerseys, giveaways, kids running the bases and more.
It's easy to see why the Senators needed a special event to introduce the 2013 promotional schedule. This is only the tip of the iceberg. To see the whole schedule, log on to SenatorsBaseball.com and take some time to look through the entire schedule of events. You might need to sit down and fix a snack to do so, as it's sure to take some time with such a loaded schedule.
The 2013 season and home opener is Thursday, April 4 at 7:00pm against the Bowie Baysox. Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets are available by either going online at www.senatorsbaseball.com or by phoning the Senators at 717-231-4444.
