Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat's 11-game home ice point streak was snapped with a 3-0 loss to the Hamilton Bulldogs at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre (AESC) on Saturday night.

After losing to the Heat 5-1 on Friday in Abbotsford, the Bulldogs scored once on the power play, twice at even strength, and saw Cedric Desjardins earn Hamilton's first shutout of the season in the win. The Heat played without Ben Walter and Sven Baertschi, neither of whom finished Friday night's contest.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 4:23 of the first period when Patrick Holland scored his second goal of the season, set up by Brendan Gallagher and Gabriel Dumont.

The Bulldogs extended their lead in the third period with a power play goal from Steve Quailer at 1:37 and an even-strength tally that deflected off a Heat defender's skate at 4:37.

The Heat's Danny Taylor started for the 10th time this season and stopped 24 of 27 shots in the loss.

Abbotsford failed to score on three power play attempts and surrendered a single power play goal against on one of Hamilton's four man-advantages.

The Heat host their 2011-12 West Division rivals, the San Antonio Rampage at the AESC on Tuesday and Wednesday. For tickets please call 1-877-452-HEAT(4328) or visit www.AbbotsfordHeat.com.
