San Antonio Spurs Re-Assign Cory Joseph to NBA D-League Affiliate Austin Toros

NEW YORK, Dec. 1, 2012 - The San Antonio Spurs re-assigned second-year guard Cory Joseph to the Austin Toros, the Spurs' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. This is the fifth career assignment for Joseph, and the 28th overall of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons.

Joseph (6-3, 185) returns to the Toros having been with the team between Nov. 15 and Nov. 21.

In 14 regular season games with the Toros last season, Joseph averaged 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 32.9 minutes. In seven postseason games last year, Joseph averaged 11.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 34.3 minutes helping the Toros defeat the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the 2012 NBA D-League Finals.

Originally selected by the Spurs with the 29th overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft out of the University of Texas, Joseph has appeared in four game for San Antonio this season, averaging 1.8 points and 7.8 minutes. In 33 career NBA games, Joseph averaged 2.0 points and 9.0 minutes.

Joseph is expected to join the Toros today and be available tonight when the team hosts the Idaho Stampede and unveils the 2012 NBA D-League Championship banner.
