COLUMBUS - The Columbus Crew today announced its participation in the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic tournament, taking place February 9 - February 23 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The Black & Gold are joined by seven other professional teams in the Central Florida Sports Commission's Soccer Spring Training, as they prepare for the 2013 MLS season.
"We're excited to take part in the Central Florida Sports Commission's Soccer Spring Training and the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic in February," said Columbus Crew Technical Director Brian Bliss. "This tournament will provide the necessary competition in preparation for the 2013 MLS season. We're looking forward being in central Florida and taking advantage of the world-class facilities."
The Crew will make Austin Tindall Regional Park in Osceola County its preseason training home during the club's stay in central Florida. Fellow MLS sides D.C. United, Philadelphia Union, Sporting Kansas City, Montreal Impact and Toronto FC, as well as Orlando City FC (USL Pro) and Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL) have all committed to participate in the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic.
