Springfield Falcons News Release

Springfield, Mass. - Players from the Springfield Falcons will participate in "Movember," a month-long event in November that generates awareness of prostate cancer and other men's health issues.

Falcons players will grow mustaches and transform themselves into walking billboards to raise conversation and elevate the level of understanding of the issues regarding men's health. The Falcons will post photos of the players' mustaches throughout the month on their Facebook page at Facebook/com/FalconsAHL. Approximately 20 players are expected to grow mustaches during Movember.

Fans may donate to Movember on behalf of the Falcons at MoBro.co/NickHolden1.

The Falcons celebration of the event will come full circle on "Movember Night" sponsored by Baystate Health on Saturday, Nov. 24, when Springfield welcomes the Manchester Monarchs to the MassMutual Center at 7:00 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to pass through the doors will receive mustaches as part of the evening.

Movember began in Melbourne, Australia and has since become a worldwide event. Starting on Nov. 1, participating men start with a clean, shaven face and grow their mustaches for the entire month. In 2011, 854,000 people became involved with the cause, raising $126.3 million US Dollars.
