Wranglers Add Left Wing, Defenseman to Roster

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that left wing Andrew Sarauer and defenseman Nolan Julseth-White have agreed to terms with the team for the upcoming 2012-13 season.

Born in Outlook, Saskatchewan, Sarauer was a fourth-round NHL draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks in 2004, the same year he enrolled at Northern Michigan University. In four seasons (2004-08), the 6-foot-4, 205-pound left wing recorded 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) in 112 games with the Wildcats. Sarauer made his ECHL debut in 2008-09 and tallied 176 points (72 goals, 104 assists) in three seasons with the Reading Royals and now-defunct Johnstown Chiefs, earning him appearances in 20 American Hockey League games. Last season, the 27-year-old picked up 22 points (7 goals, 15 assists) with Denmark's Frederikshayn White Hawks.

"Andrew is an elite player," said Wranglers Head Coach and General Manager Ryan Mougenel. "He's a 6-foot-4 body with a tremendous skill set, and will help fill a void left by some of our players who graduated to Europe and the AHL. He was well sought after by many teams, but it ultimately came down to the relationship [Wranglers Assistant Coach] Rob Pallin has with Andrew. We look forward to having him in the mix."

Julseth-White, 24, hails from Chilliwack, British Columbia, where he first played hockey for the province's Chilliwack Chiefs and Langley Chiefs. The 6-foot-1, 212-pound blueliner picked up 110 points (29 goals, 81 assists) in 215 games over four seasons (2004-08) before attending Union College. Graduating earlier this year after four seasons (2008-12) with the Garnet Blades, Julseth-White notched 18 assists in 100 games and helped his team advance to the Frozen Four in the 2012 NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey Tournament.

"Nolan was the captain at Union, and besides being a tremendous leader, he also brought a very good presence to the back end," said Mougenel. "Nolan is on the AHL radar and will start his career with us due to the uncertainty of the NHL lockout. He's one of those special players whose leadership and character are well documented."

The Wranglers will face the Stockton Thunder in the team's 2012-13 home opener on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7:05 p.m. A preseason game against the Ontario Reign takes place on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:05 p.m., and tickets are available by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK.
