Biscuits Face Elimination After Game 3 Loss

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The Biscuits (1-2) allowed a season-high 17 hits in a 10-2 loss to the Mobile BayBears (2-1), giving Mobile a 2-1 series lead, Saturday night at Riverwalk.

The BayBears scored early and often against the Biscuits. Mobile put up two runs in the first, one in the third, two in the fourth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh to lead 10-0 after seven innings. The Biscuits got an RBI-double from Mikie Mahtook in the eighth and an RBI-groundout from Craig Albernaz in the ninth to make it 10-2.

The Biscuits' continued to struggle to find the timely hit, going 0-for-9 with runners and scoring position and are now only 3-for-35 with runners in scoring position for the series.

Mobile starter Bradin Hagens (1-0) shutout the Biscuits through seven innings while striking out five for the win. Jake Thompson (0-1) picked up the loss after allowing five runs on eight hits through four innings.

Game four of the South Division Championship Series will be Sunday afternoon at 2:05. Facing elimination the Biscuits will send RHP Merrill Kelly to the mound. The BayBears have RHP Michael Bolsinger to the hill.
