CHICAGO, September 4, 2012 - In anticipation of the Chicago Sky's first potential postseason appearance, the team announced that tickets for the 2012 WNBA Playoffs will go on sale on today at 10:00 a.m. Tickets begin at $15 and can be purchased at http://www.ticketmaster.com/Chicago-Sky-tickets/artist/1020273 or by calling 866.SKY.WNBA.

The 2012 WNBA Playoffs begin Thursday, Sept. 27. Final seeding, pairings, dates and times will not be determined until the conclusion of the regular season on Sept. 23.

As of today, the Chicago Sky are tied for fourth place in the Eastern Conference. The top four teams from each conference are eligible for the WNBA Playoffs.

"If you have the opportunity to put playoff tickets on sale at this stage of the season, it means your team is in the mix," said Adam Fox, Chicago Sky president and CEO. "We are excited to be here, and we look forward to our fans coming out and supporting us as we go for our first WNBA title."

The Conference Semifinals and Conference Finals will be played in a best-of-three format. The lower seed in each of these series hosts the second game, and the higher seed is home for the first and third games. In the Conference Semifinals, the first-place team in each conference plays the fourth-place team, and the second-place and third-place teams play each other with the winners advancing to the Conference Finals. The winners of the Conference Finals meet in the WNBA Finals. The WNBA Finals will be a best-of-five series. In the WNBA Finals, the team with the better record hosts games 1, 2 and 5 (if necessary) and is on the road for games 3 and 4 (if necessary).

The next opportunity to see the Sky at Allstate Arena is Tuesday, Sept. 11, when the defending champion Minnesota Lynx and their trio of stars Maya Moore, Seimone Augustus and Lindsay Whalen come to Chicago. Tickets for that game, and the rest of Chicago's regular season schedule, can be purchased by calling 866.SKY.WNBA or visiting www.chicagosky.net.
