Fighting Saints Release Preseason Schedule

August 4, 2012 - United States Hockey League (USHL) Dubuque Fighting Saints

DUBUQUE, Iowa-Hockey season is just around the corner in Dubuque. The Dubuque Fighting Saints announced its preseason schedule today, and the club will take the ice six times, with two events being hosted at Mystique Community Ice Center.

The first action of the preseason will take place on Thursday, September 6. The Fighting Saints will host the Janesville Jets of the Tier-II, North American Hockey League in a controlled scrimmage. The Jets are located 95 miles from Dubuque in southern Wisconsin, and will travel to take the ice with the Fighting Saints at 7:05 p.m. at Mystique Community Ice Center.

The following night, Friday, September 7, Dubuque will host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders with a slated 7:35 p.m. puck drop at Mystique Community Ice Center. The Friday game in Dubuque is the first of a home-and-home between the two teams in the preseason. On Saturday, September 8, Dubuque will travel to Cedar Rapids as they battle the RoughRiders on the Olympic-sized sheet of ice at Cedar Rapids Ice Arena at 7:05 p.m. The two teams will play eight times during the regular season.

The Fighting Saints will also take part in the annual USHL Fall Classic in Sioux City, IA in mid-September. Dubuque will play three games at the Fall Classic, battling Tri-City at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, Team USA-18 at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, and conclude with a game against the Youngstown Phantoms at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21. The Fighting Saints regular season begins Friday, September 28, with a 7:35 p.m. puck drop against the Tri-City Storm at Mystique Community Ice Center.

Individual tickets for home preseason games will go sale in the near future. Season ticket packages for the 2012-13 season are available now.
