Dynamo Host New York Red Bulls Tonight Seeking First Place, Fifth-Straight Win

HOUSTON, TX (Friday, August 3, 2012) - The Houston Dynamo will try to match a club-record with their fifth-consecutive win as they meet the New York Red Bulls tonight at BBVA Compass Stadium. It's a first-place showdown, with Houston trailing New York by one point in the Eastern Conference standings. The match is sold-out, but fans can purchase tickets using the Dynamo Direct Tickets resale portal, http://www.houstondynamo.com/dynamodirecttickets.

The Dynamo have won four-consecutive regular season games for the first time since 2009. It was then that the team matched a club record with a five-game winning streak.

Tonight's match will begin at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network and can be heard on SportsTalk 790 AM and La Ranchera 850 AM (Spanish). The game is also the start of a rare home-and-home series with the Red Bulls, with both teams meeting again on Aug. 10 in New York.

Houston is 10-5-7 (37 points) after 22 games and tied for second place in the Eastern Conference with Sporting Kansas City. The Red Bulls are 11-6-5 (38 points) through 22 games and in first place in the Eastern Conference.

The Dynamo are unbeaten in their last seven games (5-0-2). It is the longest regular season unbeaten streak since Houston set a franchise record for consecutive games without a loss at 11, from April 11 - June 20, 2009 (8-0-3).

The Men in Orange are 7-0-3 at BBVA Compass Stadium since its opening on May 12. Houston has not lost a home game in over a year, with their last home defeat on June 18, 2011. The Dynamo are unbeaten in 19-consecutive home games (playoffs included) for the longest unbeaten streak in franchise history.

The Red Bulls are led by French legend Thierry Henry, with 11 goals and six assists in 15 games, and forward Kenny Cooper, who is tied for second in MLS with 13 goals. New York could also feature former Everton star and Australia international Tim Cahill, who signed with the Red Bulls on July 26 and is set to make his MLS debut.

Dynamo midfielder Brad Davis has recorded six assists in his last four games and now has 10 assists on the season. Davis is tied for the league lead in assists with Dwayne De Rosario of D.C. United.

Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall has nine shutouts on the season and is tied for the league lead. Hall and the Dynamo have recorded five shutouts in their last six games and have not allowed a goal in the run of play since June 30.
