Yankees Slip Past Knights 6-4 on Friday in Finale

(Fort Mill, SC) - Four unearned runs in the first inning for the Yankees set the tone for Friday's game at Knights Stadium.

In a game that saw a combined five errors, 17 hits, 10 runs and a 63-minute rain delay, it was the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees coming away with a 6-4 win over the Charlotte Knights on Friday in game four of the four-game series from Knights Stadium. With the loss, the Knights dropped three of four games to the Yankees and finished the season series with a 3-5 record.

UNC product Adam Warren (6-6, 3.69) allowed three runs on six hits over six innings to earn the victory. Warren allowed a solo home run to Dan Johnson in the fourth inning. The home run was Johnson's 23rd of the season.

LHP Charlie Leesman started the game for the Knights and allowed six runs (two earned) on eight hits over five innings. Leesman (8-9, 2.69) gave up two home runs to Brandon Laird, who finished the night with two hits - both home runs.

Ryota Igarashi shut the door in the ninth inning for his fifth save of the season.

Chicago White Sox third baseman Brent Morel went 0-4 with three strikeouts. Morel, who was added to the roster before the game to continue his Major League rehab assignment, also committed three errors.

The Knights will now move on to face the Gwinnett Braves in game one of a four-game series beginning on Saturday. Gates are set to open at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. RHP Matt Zaleski will take the ball for the Knights in the opener.
