
Aces to Raise Money for Local Victim of Aurora Tragedy

RENO, Nev.-The Reno Aces Baseball Club will donate $5 of every ticket sold this Friday for any games remaining on the current homestand to the Jonathan Blunk Memorial Fund, the club announced today.
Blunk, a Reno native and a five-year veteran of the United States Navy, was 1-of-12 victims fatally shot at a theater last week in Aurora, Colo. Blunk left behind a wife and two children. The fund organized in his name will help to cover funeral costs and other debts, with the remainder being put into a trust for his children.
Between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Aces fans can purchase tickets to any of the final five games of the homestand online or at the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office. For every ticket sold for this homestand on Friday, the Aces will donate $5 to the Jonathan Blunk Memorial.
Tickets for the fundraising effort will be available in all seating sections while supplies last. Fans can purchase online by visiting RenoAces.com and entering the code "colorado." Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office on Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
On Friday, the first-place Aces will finish their pivotal series against second-place Colorado Springs. Friday will be another Saint Mary's Fireworks Friday presented by KRNV News 4.
On Saturday through Tuesday, Reno will welcome rival Sacramento to Aces Ballpark. That four-game series includes a Welcome Mat Giveaway presented by KOLO 8 News Now (Saturday), Renown Children's Hospital Family Funday (Sunday), Om-Nom-Nomday presented by KTVN Channel 2 News (Monday) and a 2-for-$22 Tuesday.
