Eagles Re-Sign ECHL MVP Chad Costello for 2012-13 Season

July 11, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL) Colorado Eagles

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles of the ECHL announced today that they have re-signed ECHL MVP Chad Costello for the 2012-13 season. Costello -- who was the third Eagles player in as many seasons to be named league MVP -- recorded 76 points (29-47-76) in just 47 games of an injury-shortened season; his 1.62 points-per-game average was the league's best.

His strong performance in the ECHL led to two separate call-ups to the American Hockey League, along with several other honors at the ECHL level. He was named one of just three forwards on the All-ECHL 1st Team, he was named one of Colorado's Silver Skaters in lieu of a league All-Star honor and he compiled the best plus/minus rating in the ECHL through the month of December (+19). Costello finished the season tied for 4th in points (76), tied for 10th in goals (29), tied for 6th in assists (47) and tied for 4th in plus/minus (+21).

"I hope that the decision for the Eagles was as easy as it was for me to re-sign. There's nowhere else I want to play," said Costello. "I'm excited for the upcoming season and can't wait for it to start."

The 2012-13 season starts in October (a complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com). Tickets for all Eagles home games will go on sale September 21 and can be purchased at www.ComcastTix.com, the BEC box office, or by calling 1-877-544-TIXX (8499) or 970-686-SHOT (7468).
