Inland Empire 66ers News Release

San Bernardino, CA - The Inland Empire 66ers are going to give one lucky fan 5,000 free hot dogs... over the next 64 seasons. With the team closing in on 5,000 Facebook likes, the 66ers plan to celebrate by offering 5,000 free hot dogs to the 5,000th person to "like" the team on the social networking site. The lucky winner is entitled to one free hot dog per game for 5,000 consecutive games (including playoffs) at San Manuel Stadium, transferrable through death and affiliation change.

When told of the exciting new promotion, Food and Beverage Director Joe Hudson said, "What!?!?!"

"This is a great way to celebrate our team's growth in the social media realm," said 66ers Social Media Specialist Robert Peters. "Our Facebook page, twitter following and mobile app have enhanced the way our fans can follow the Inland team. We want to celebrate this special milestone by pulling this lucky fan off the web, and into the seats, and the concession stands."

The 66ers official scorer calculates the 5,000 hot dogs should last at least 64 years and at most 72 seasons depending on how often the 66ers make the playoffs over the next six decades. They have also deducted that if world hot dog eating champion Joey "Jaws" Chestnut only eats hot dogs on the 4th of July, the lucky 5,000th fan should remain comfortably ahead of the record eaters pace of hot dogs per year.

The official scorer also scoured the team's records and found that the prize is 4,998 more hot dogs than Food and Beverage Director Joe Hudson has ever given away in his tenure in that role. He has vowed to personally charge the winner of the contest for their first hot dog, sometime around the 2080 season of Inland Empire 66ers baseball.

Fans are encouraged to follow the contest through the 66ers facebook page and twitter feed. Fans can also follow the team on their upcoming road trip to Rancho Cucamonga, and through the final 50 games of the 2012 season on the mobile app, and through the 66ers radio coverage on AM 1050 KCAA.
