
Aces Take Down Generals 5-1

Victoria Generals News Release
The Alexandria Aces defeated the Victoria Generals 5-1 on Saturday night to split a two-game series entering into the TCL All-Star Break.
The Generals were unable to solve Aces pitching due Rob Thomas and Ben Frith as they combined to hold the Generals to just four hits. Thomas pitched six innings to pick up his second win of the season as Frith pitched the final three to earn his first save of the year.
The only offensive highlight of the night for the Generals was a fifth inning solo home run by Trent Wagner.
Tyler Schnuriger took the loss for the Generals to move to 1-3 on the season. Schnuriger allowed two runs on seven hits in four innings. He walked three and struck out one.
Kyle Chaskin gave up one run on two hits in two innings and Corey Holmes allowed the other two runs on two hits in one inning of work.
Jeremy Flores pitched a scoreless eighth inning for the Generals.
The Aces improved to 14-19 on the season and 2-1 in the second-half. The Generals fell to 20-10 on the year and 1-1 in the second-half.
The Generals will host the 2012 TCL All-Star Game presented by the University of Houston-Victoria on Monday night at Riverside Stadium in Victoria. Proceeding the game will the the TCL Home Run Derby presented by Victoria Nissan starting at 6:00pm. The All-Star Game will follow at 7:05pm.
