Janesville Jets Tryout Camp Next WeekJuly 6, 2012 - North American Hockey League (NAHL) Janesville Jets
The Jets tryout camp is open to the public to watch and is free to attend. The Jets are holding this final tryout camp in Verona because the Janesville Ice Arena is currently closed for major rink renovations.
Seven teams (including one comprised of Milwaukee Jr. Admirals AAA team members) will be organized to practice and scrimmage each other. Attached is the 2012 Jets Tryout Camp Schedule listing all game times by team.
Player registration is from 2 - 4 PM on Wednesday, July 11th, and then there will be four practice sessions immediately following. The first game scrimmage starts on Thursday, July 12th at 9:45 AM and the games continue through Saturday, July 14th until 3:30 PM.
After the last regular game on Saturday the 14th, Jets Head Coach Joe Dibble and his staff will select the final top 40 players in competition to make this season's squad. These players will be divided into two teams of 20, who will then play in two separate All-Star games. The first All-Star game will start at 6 PM on Saturday, July 14th, and then the two All-Star teams will battle again the next morning, Sunday July 15th, starting at 10 AM.
The initial 2012-2013 Janesville Jets hockey team roster will be composed of 27 players. Those players will be announced at some point after the tryout camp completion.
NHL star and Janesville Jets co-owner Joe Pavelski will be making an appearance at the tryout camp in Verona, with the exact time and date to be announced later. Also, former Jets players Lennie Childs, John Olen, Connor McBride, and John Houston will be returning to help with the camp organizing and serve as assistant bench coaches.
