Two-Time BCS Champ, All-American Trent Richardson at Saturday's Game

Two-time BCS National Champion (2010 & 2012) and a unanimous 2011 All-American Trent Richardson will be at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium on Saturday, July 7 when the Blue Wahoos host the Mobile BayBears.

Richardson was the third overall pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 NFL draft. He played for three seasons under Nick Saban at the University of Alabama. This past season, Richardson finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting behind Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck. Over 38 games at Alabama Richardson rushed for 3,130 with 35 career touchdowns.

Richardson, a graduate of Escambia High School in Pensacola in 2009, will throw out the first pitch during the pregame ceremonies on Saturday. The Blue Wahoos will hold their 4th of July celebration that night with the largest Saturday night fireworks show of the season presented by Hancock Bank. It's also the first game of the three-game Bay-to-Bay series with the Mobile BayBears. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5:00 p.m.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos are the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The team's inaugural 2012 season is underway but it's not too late to book 2012 group outings.
