ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Pacific Coast League named their Player and Pitcher of the Week today, recognizing Moises Sierra of the Las Vegas 51s and Erasmo Ramirez of the Tacoma Rainiers for their top performances between May 28th and June 3rd.

Sierra hit .560 in six games last week, pacing the PCL with four home runs while adding 11 RBIs. His 1.160 slugging percentage also led the league, as the outfielder put together five multi-hit games and seven extra-base hits. On June 1st, Sierra hit three home runs in an 11-1 win in Tucson, then hit one more the next day at home against Reno in a 4-for-4 effort that saw the 51s win 6-5 in the 10th inning.

Sierra, hailing from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, has been in the Blue Jays organization since 2006. Last year, the 23-year-old hit .277 with a career-high 18 home runs for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, adding 19 doubles and 16 stolen bases for the AA club. In 2012 Sierra is hitting .303 with ten home runs for Las Vegas while playing in 53 of the club's 57 games.

Ramirez earns his selection after putting together back-to-back excellent starts, going 2-0 last week with just a 1.35 ERA. On May 28th, the right-hander held Tucson to just one run over 7.1 innings, and on June 2nd he struck out nine Sacramento River Cats batters while going 6.0 innings, again allowing just a single run. His 15 strikeouts were the best in the league for the week, during which he walked only two batters while compiling a 0.71 WHIP.

Ramirez, born in Nicaragua, signed with the Seattle Mariners in 2007, and in 2009 was named Seattle's minor league pitcher of the year after going 11-1 in 14 starts with a 0.51 ERA, striking out 80 while walking just 5. In 2010, he pitched in the Midwest League and was named a mid-season All-Star, a post-season All-Star, and Clinton LumberKings Pitcher of the Year after going 10-4 with a 2.97 ERA. Ramirez made his Major League debut in 2012 with the Mariners on April 9th, pitching three innings and striking out three. This season with the Rainiers the 22-year-old is 3-1 with 24 strikeouts and a 3.34 ERA.
