Gutierrez Transferred To New Orleans; Black Transferred To Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins, announced today that INF Chris Gutierrez has been transferred to New Orleans from Jacksonville. In a corresponding move, INF Daniel Black has been transferred to the Jacksonville Suns from Jupiter. Black is available for Sunday's contest in Jacksonville, Fla.

Gutierrez heads to New Orleans after playing in 38 games with Jacksonville in 2012. He hit .189 with eight runs scored and 11 RBI.

Black comes to Jacksonville for the first time in his career. Black hit .296 with 10 runs scored and 13 RBI with Jupiter in 37 games in 2012. Black will be assigned a number upon arrival in Jacksonville.

The Suns roster stands at 25, which is the maximum allowed in the Southern League.
