New York Liberty News Release

NEW YORK, NY, May 18, 2012 - The New York Liberty announced its official opening day roster today for the 2012 season. Fans will have the chance to see the team in action for the first time on Saturday, May 19, when they host the Connecticut Sun at Madison Square Garden at 4 p.m. The game was moved from Prudential Center due to a scheduling conflict with the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils Eastern Conference Finals matchup. The home opener will be telecast live on MSG+, one of 13 home games that will be on the network this season. The Liberty will head to Connecticut following the game for the second half of the home-and-home match-up, Sunday at 5 p.m.

"We have an incredible core of talented veterans at every position that should provide real leadership to our younger players," said Head Coach & General Manager John Whisenant. "Our bench depth and athleticism will certainly make a difference throughout the season. We are eager to start this season's championship run and believe we have the players to accomplish our goals."

A complete roster is included below. Quanitra Hollingsworth did not report to Liberty training camp, she chose to remain in Turkey to train with the Turkish National Team. She has been suspended for the 2012 WNBA season and the Liberty retain her rights.
