Windsor Spitfires News Release

The Windsor Spitfires are pleased to be hosting the Windsor `AAA' Zone Orientation on Wednesday, May 16th from 7pm-8pm at the WFCU Centre.

This is a joint effort between the Windsor Spitfires and the Windsor `AAA' Zone to introduce and establish an immediate relationship and tie-in between the two organizations starting with the players, coaches, trainers, management and parents.

Windsor `AAA' Zone teams from the Atom Minor level through Midget Minor level will tour the Spitfires facilities and the Spitfires coaching staff will prove them insight into our organizational philosophies, including what it means to be a Spitfire and to wear the Spitfires jersey as well as off-ice and on-ice preparation and more.

"I think it's a fantastic mix," said Windsor `AAA' Zone President Fred Baldwin. "We've always been closely tied, but this makes us an integral part of the Spitfires organization, giving each child playing Windsor `AAA' the opportunity to aspire to be a Spitfire caliber player and be proud to wear the logo. I look forward to working closer during the Spitfires coaching clinics, training clinics and educational programs for the players. We hope to take it further prior to the season by bringing in all parents and players to do a presentation on drugs, alcohol and bullying."

"This program is about the Spitfires foundation for learning, respect, family, accountability etc.," said Spitfires Governor Peter Dobrich. "We have been thinking about it for a while and have finally been able to deliver it. It is only natural for us to build a stronger bond with theyoung generation of hockey players in the community. This is all part of our Spitfires Hockey Academy, which we see growing with other associations including coaches."

Additional support to the Windsor `AAA' Zone include the Fitness Starter Clinic on Thursday, June 14th from 7pm-8pm and a Coaches Clinic on Friday, June 15th from 7pm-9pm, both to take place at the WFCU Centre.
