New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

TRENTON, NJ - John Tolisano singled home the go-ahead run in the top of tenth inning, breaking a 5-5 tie and sending the Fisher Cats (12-15) to a 7-5 ten-inning win against the Trenton Thunder (13-13) on Friday night. The victory is the Fisher Cats fifth in seven games against Trenton as they begin a six-game road trip through New Jersey and Maine.

The winning rally took place after the Fisher Cats bullpen lost a two-run lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. Still tied at 5-5 in the tenth, Mike McDade picked up a lead-off double into the left field corner for his fourth hit of the night. He took third on a single by Mark Sobolewski before Tolisano brought him home for a 6-5 lead. Three batters later, a Justin Jackson single and a throwing error plated Sobolewski to extend the lead at 7-5.

Trenton actually scored first with a run against Chad Jenkins in the bottom of the first inning. But the Fisher Cats answered right back in the top of the second. With two on and one out, Jonathan Diaz reached on an error to load the bases for Ryan Goins. A passed ball brought home the first run before the Fisher Cats' RBI leader laced a two-run single to left field to put the Fisher Cats on top, 3-1.

After giving up a home run in the second, Jenkins settled down protect a 3-2 lead until the fifth. That's when Goins started another rally with a lead-off bunt. After stealing second, he advanced to third on an infield single by A.J. Jimenez. Mike McDade followed with a single to right to plate Goins for a 4-2 advantage. A double play off the bat of Mark Sobolewski scored Diaz to make it a 5-2 game.

Jenkins pitched six full innings, allowing three runs in a no-decision. He was in line for his third win - and second against Trenton - before the Thunder pulled off its aforementioned rally.

McDade led a 15-hit attack for the Fisher Cats by picking up three singles, his fourth double, and a walk. He added his 11th RBI with a base hit in the fifth. Goins finished the night 3-5 with two RBI.

The series continues on Saturday night at 7:05 PM. RHP Deck McGuire (1-4, 7.18) faces Trenton RHP Graham Stoneburner (0-0, 0.00). Radio coverage with Tom Gauthier begins at 6:45 PM on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network and www.nhfishercats.com.
