Jam Lose Series to D-Fenders

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Jam lost to the Los Angeles D-Fenders 109-90 in Game 2 of the NBA D-League Semifinals, thus eliminated from the playoffs. Bakersfield started the game aggressive on both ends of the floor, as they took a 29-19 lead into the second period. However, Bakersfield was unable to keep the momentum on their side and struggled in the second quarter as they got outscored 33-21. After trailing 52-50 at halftime, the Jam continued their struggles and fell behind by nine points in the third period. The D-Fenders extended their lead by as many as 26 points in the fourth, and made it difficult for the Jam to make a comeback. Bakersfield had one final push in the final minutes of the game, but it wasn't enough to overcome the big deficit.

Derrick Byars led the Jam with a team-high 18 points. Adam Koch scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Brian Butch and Juan Patillo each recorded a double-double, with Butch scoring12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds while Pattillo off the bench recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds. Reserve Trey Johnson contributed 10 points.

Los Angeles was led by Elijah Millsap and Mardy Collins with 23 points apiece. Orien Greene finished with 16 points and nine assists.

Bakersfield ends the 2011-12 season with a 28-22 regular season record and a 2-2 postseason record.
