Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Visalia, CA - Rancho Cucamonga scored three times in the ninth inning to break a 3-3 tie, hanging on for their first road win of the year in a 6-3 victory over the Visalia Rawhide on Saturday night at Recreation Park.

Leon Landry, who had three of the Quakes' nine hits on the night, brought home pinch-runner Charlie Mirabal with an RBI double for what turned out to be the game-winning run. Tyler Henson's two-run single off Blake Cooper (0-1) provided the Quakes with a little insurance, as his blooper to right produced both Pedro Guerrero and Landry for a 6-3 lead.

That lead was plenty for closer Logan Bawcom (1-0) who threw a scoreless eighth, then returned in the ninth and struck out all three batters he faced to lock up Rancho's third win in their last four games.

Landry led off the game with a solo home run, his second of the year to put the Quakes ahead 1-0 against Visalia starter Anthony Meo.

Quakes' starter Andres Santiago struggled a bit on Saturday, giving up a run in the first and another in the second, as Visalia took a 2-1 lead.

Rancho got a pair of runs in the fifth, capitalizing on two walks and three wild pitches, taking a 3-2 advantage.

Santiago was removed after four innings in favor of reliever Scott McGough, who allowed the tying run to score in the fifth, as Chris Owings' RBI double made it a 3-3 game.

Rancho (4-5) and Visalia (5-3) will match up on Sunday in a Double-Header, featuring a pair of seven-inning contests that will start at 2:00pm. Angel Sanchez (0-1) and Zach Lee are expected to go for the Quakes, while the Rawhide will counter with Mike Bolsinger (0-1) and Ray Hernandez (1-0).

The Quakes return to The Epicenter on Thursday, April 19th, for another Buffalo Wild Wings Thirsty Thursday. Tickets are available at 909-481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at The Epicenter...Go Quakes!
