COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Once again, the NCAA Men's Frozen Four will feature an American flair, as 83 of the 108 players on the rosters of Boston College, Ferris State University, University of Minnesota and Union College have developmental roots in the United States.
Play in the NCAA Men's Frozen Four begins Thursday (April 5) at Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, Fla., with Ferris State opposing Union and Boston College facing Minnesota.
Among the Frozen Four participants, 73 players have ties to junior hockey in America prior to their collegiate days, including 48 from the United States Hockey League, 13 from the North American Hockey League, 11 from the Eastern Junior Hockey League and one from the Northern Pacific Hockey League.
Included in the 48 USHL alumni are two players who were part of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program. Located in Ann Arbor, Mich., the NTDP is an elite training program for the top 16- and 17-year-old players in the United States.

A total of 15 states will be represented by players in the Frozen Four, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
